WP_20151121_012 (3)Here I am doing what’s called a Cat Block. None of the blocks in Mutsubayashi Shorin-Ryu are considered “blocks”, but rather strikes. A cat block stance is achieved by your putting all your weight on your back leg and almost none on the one in front. We do this because if someone tries to sweep your legs out from under you, you wont fall over because you’ll have all your wait on the back leg. So if your just standing talking to some one just rest on that back leg.
